I have been practicing massage therapy since 1995 and specialize in Zen Shiatsu - studying with masters in Portland, New York and England for over a decade. In addition to my private practice, my understanding of the healing benefits of shiatsu therapy deepened while working for seven years at the Immune Enhancement Program in SE Portland - a Chinese Medicine clinic providing treatment for patients with cancer, multiple sclerosis, HIV, and chronic pain. This led me to become a shiatsu instructor and shiatsu clinic supervisor at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, where I was on faculty for ten years. I also teach, on occasion, at the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy, and conduct various workshops for health care providers in Portland, Oregon. Currently I am working on my Masters degree in Oriental medicine and look forward to adding acupuncture and herbal medicine to my practice.
My bodywork style is a blend of shiatsu, myo-fascial work, cranial-sacral therapy, and acupressure. Treatments focus on rejuvenation, health maintenance, and building resilience to stress through enhancing mind-body connection.
I welcome adults, teens, and children in my practice. I also give workshops for students and professionals in the health care field, as well as provide tutorials for couples and families.
